On September 21 this year, an extraordinary plenary session of the Central Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan was held.
The plenum was attended by members of the Central Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, leaders of party organizations in Karakalpakstan, the city of Tashkent, regions and districts (cities), primary party organizations, party activists, and media representatives.
The plenary session considered a number of organizational issues related to the participation of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan in the election of deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, regional, district and city councils of people's deputies, the organization of collecting signatures of citizens supporting the participation of the Ecoparty in the elections, as well as convening and preparing for the II Party Congress, determination of the rules for the representation of delegates elected to the Congress from territorial party organizations of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and clan of Tashkent.
It was noted that the Central Election Commission determined December 22, 2019 as the day of elections of deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and local kengashes of people's deputies. Elections in 2019 will be held under the motto “New Uzbekistan. New elections! ” The start of a new election campaign in Uzbekistan was given on September 20.
It was emphasized that the elections will be held for the first time on the basis of the Electoral Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. For the first time, a new party, the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, will take part in the elections.
In accordance with paragraph 6.9 of the Party Charter, a decision was made to participate in the elections in December 2019. The plan of basic measures for the preparation and conduct of the II Party Congress was approved, at which candidates for deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and local councils of people's deputies will be approved.
At the plenary session, it was noted that the conquest of parliamentary seats by the country's Parliament and representative local authorities will allow the party not only to improve legislation, but to identify environmental problems in the localities and effectively solve them together with executive bodies of state power and administration.
The plenary session discussed topical issues of the activities of party organizations in implementing the program tasks of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan over the past 8 months. It was noted that in a short period of time the number of party members reached 247 thousand people. In the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent, 14 territorial party organizations, 201 district, and more than 1000 primary party organizations were created.
The tasks that must be completed starting today to achieve high election results are identified.
At the event, it was noted that in order to achieve specific results in the election process, party candidates need to develop their election program, clearly formulate objectives, develop a strategy and tactics for participating in the election process, organize various environmental campaigns and conduct an effective PR campaign.
The tasks of organizing the collection of voter signatures in support of the participation of the Ecological Party in the elections were discussed.
Issues of developing the material and technical base of territorial and district (city) party organizations were also discussed.
Speakers at the plenum emphasized that the upcoming elections confronted the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, as the party still did not have experience in the election campaign and work with the electorate, as well as in conducting PR campaigns. At the same time, it was noted that winning seats in central and local representative bodies of power in the upcoming elections will enable MPs from the party to raise and resolve issues of environmental protection and public health, the rational use of natural resources, and environmental sustainability, not only in the Legislative Chamber, but and in local kengashes of people's deputies.
On all issues discussed at the plenary session, specific decisions were made on the further organization of work and corresponding instructions were given to the kengashes of territorial party organizations.
