The inhabitants of the planet in the current month will be able to watch just two interesting astronomical events. Lunar and solar eclipses will occur on 8 and 24 October, respectively.

Lunar eclipse will last about 3.5 hours. At this point, on October 8 the shadow from our planet closes the sunlight from the moon. Part of the light will still fall on the moon's surface, making it red. This unusual phenomenon can be watched by people from Asian, Pacific, North and South America.
On October 24 the inhabitants of the planet will be able to watch a partial solar eclipse, which will last about an hour. The best conditions for the observation of astronomical phenomena, again, will be presented in Mexico, the United States and Canada.
During a solar eclipse the moon passes through the shadow of the sky in a place where the sun is shining at the moment, closing it from us. Since the angular size of the Moon and the Sun at such distances from Earth are almost the same, humanity has the opportunity to observe the total solar eclipse. At such moments, the moon completely covers the sun, turning day into night, and making visible the beautiful solar corona.
