From 28 to 29 October Urgench will host the International Conference "Development of cooperation in the Aral SeaBasin to mitigate environmental catastrophe." It is planned that the event will bring together experts from more than 25 countries.

Its main goal is to mobilize resources and efforts of the international community for the implementation of practical actions for the implementation of programs and projects aimed at improving the environmental and socio-economic situation in the Aral Sea basin region, and ensuring the further development of international cooperation to reduce the negative impacts of environmental disaster, Uzbekistan Today reports.
At the plenary session is scheduled to run video on the problems of the Aral Sea. The specialists will also discuss the implementation of regional projects, reports of the representatives of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, the heads of delegations of international organizations and donors.

On October 22, was held the regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

After the adoption of the agenda, proposed by the Kengash (Council) of the Legislative Chamber, deputies discussed the Budget message for 2015, including drafts of the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan and budgets of the state trust funds, as well as the main directions of tax and budget policy for 2015. On this issue, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Minister of Finance Rustam Azimov and Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms of the Legislative Chamber B.Iminov, made reports.

It was noted that the project of the main financial document of the country – the State Budget for 2015 and budgets of the state trust funds, as well as the main directions of tax and budget policy are developed on the basis of priorities of socio-economic development, defined by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

On October 23, 2014 was held a conference in Fergana territorial branch of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan of nominating deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The conference was attended by 501 activists from all parts of the Ecomovement of Fergana region, including specialists of environmental organizations, health professionals, education, science, representatives of self-government, NGOs and the media.

The conference was attended by a member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirzaev A.K.

The conference was held in the thresholds and the approved schedule conferences territorial offices of the Ecomovement based on decisions of the Central Kengash Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan participation in the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Announcement of the place, date and time of the conference was published in the regional newspaper "Farg’ona haqiqati" on October 10 this year.

On October 18, 2014 in the city of Navoi in the great hall of the Center for Youth held a conference of Navoi territorial branch of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan on the election of delegates to the Conference of the Ecomovement for the nomination of candidates from the Ecomovement in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Republic of Uzbekistan and their election.

The conference was attended by 341 activists from all parts of the Ecomovement in Navoi area. Among them - the Ecomovement activists, specialists in the field of nature protection, health, education, science, representatives of NGOs, the media and other civil society institutions.

The event was attended by a member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan Norov Zh.Kh.

The Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan opens the annual information-library week Infolib Uzbekistan 2014.

The week agenda includes seminars, round table discussions, book presentations, exhibitions and performances of music bands.

Each day is full of various events. Today, after the opening ceremony is planned to hold a round table, presentation of a book by pianist Adiba Sharipova, workshop with involvement of UNESCO representatives, meeting with the People’s Writer of Uzbekistan Tohir Malik, and performances by music groups of ethnic cultural centers of Uzbekistan.

In the days that follow the visitors participate in no less interesting events, including creative meetings with many renowned culture and science figures. Moreover, diverse program is prepared for children, their parents and young people. During the whole week all willing could watch films from the library’s video fund. 

Representatives of UNDP and the European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department (ECHO) have opened the Tashkent Earthquake Simulation Complex.

The complex was built in collaboration with UNDP, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Academy of Sciences, and the Ministry of Culture and Sports, with financial support from ECHO.

The Earthquake Simulation Complex located at the Institute of Civil Defence in Tashkent, contributes in raising public awareness about the threat of natural disasters, and provide a higher level of readiness when they occur.

On October 21, 2014 was held a conference in Andijan territorial branch of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan of nominating deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Republic of Uzbekistan.

The conference was attended by 357 activists from all parts of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan in Andijan region, including specialists of environmental organizations, health professionals, education, science, representatives of self-government, NGOs and the media.

The conference was held in the thresholds and the approved schedule conferences territorial offices of the Ecomovement based on decisions of the Central Kengash Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan participation in the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On October 16, 2014 was held a conference in Bukhara territorial branch of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan of nominating deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Republic of Uzbekistan.

The conference brought together 337 activists from all regions of the Ecomovement area. Worthy of special mention is the fact that the participants of the conference were the true followers of environmental security in the country and in the region, environmental scientists who are actively engaged in activities for the protection of the environment, improve public health, as well as intellectuals, specialists in the field of nature protection, medicine, environmental education and training, lawyers, economists, as well as representatives of NGOs and other civil society institutions.

As a guide it should be noted that the December 25, 2008 adopted the Law "On introducing amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with improvement of electoral legislation". On December 27, 2009 at the Conference of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Republic of Uzbekistan were nominated and elected 15 members of the Ecomovement. They are elected on an alternative basis of the number of delegates to the Conference, nominated by the territorial offices of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan held conferences in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent city.
